There are three main holiday resorts on the popular island of Lanzarote in the Canaries. Each boasting its own unique attractions and accommodation options.

Tourism first started to gain in popularity on Lanzarote during the 1970´s when the whole of Spain was first opened up to holidaymakers by General Franco. Whilst within the town itself there are another three fine stretches of sand to enjoy in the form of Playa Dorada, Playa Flamingo and Playa Blanca (the small town centre beach which the resort is named after).

These are all united by a seafront promenade – which is also where visitors will find the main concentration of restaurants, shops and nightlife in the resort. Follow this to the west and you’ll come to the Rubicon Marina – home to Lanzarote’s very own branch of the famous Café del Mar chain.
